Since 1947, with the Baccetti family, colour is a form of magic that everyone can experiment with.

At the start of their activities, the Baccetti family business sold loose hardware products that were either wrapped in newspaper or bottled there and then.

They later widened the range of products on offer by selling vehicle bodywork paints and resins for boats.

Despite being victims of the 1966 flood, the Baccetti family never lost faith, and today it continues to sell water-based paints for homes and vehicles, resins and varnishes for boats, all types of spray paints, including bespoke, and items for the fine arts.

“In 1947, when my father Corrado was 30 years old, he decided to quit painting and decorating and open this shop, with a few mismatched wooden benches, and a license to sell hardware goods, paints, heaters and gas bottles”.

Every morning, he got on his bike and went to work, come rain or shine. There were a lot of tough times but also a lot of enthusiasm.

In the beginning, lots of products were sold loose, or in cartons and containers. Over time, the business grew thanks to the quality of our products, above all for vehicle bodywork.

There was life in this street: all the shutters were up, and you could hear people humming as they worked.

As an adolescent, I had little interest in studying and so I started to help my father, almost for fun. In the end, the business sucked me in as well.

In the 1960s the shop was steadily growing and so I decided to stay, with my father in charge of our many employees.

And then, right in the middle of that economic boom, along came the flood and ruined everything. Recovering from that was not easy at all.

The workshop has always remained faithful to its origins and has always stood on its own two feet.

When we got married, my husband Vincenzo decided to come and work with me in the shop. And even our daughter Silvia, after all her studies, discovered a passion for painting and so has decided to put herself behind the counter and help us in the business.

These are not simple times for a paint shop, but by standing together we can overcome any setback. If I look back at this street full of memories now, I can’t help but feel a little nostalgia”.
