ULTIMA ESTATE IN CITTÀ

by G. CALLIGARICH

Bompiani 2019

The first novel by Italy’s greatest forgotten living author, Ultima Estate in Città is the story of a hard up journalist who lives in Rome. The protagonist meets and loses his love, has a best friend whom he loses as well, and finds himself in the midst of parties without realising that he is caught in their whirlwind. A wonderful read, so good it makes you cry.

LA MORTE ATTENDE VITTIME

by M. MARI

NERO EDIZIONI 2020

A collection of comics, doodles and sketches. A great — literally, it’s a big book— comic by an excellent author who recounts portions of the writings that he holds most dear: literary classics. L’Orlando Furioso, Uno studio in rosso, Il Visconte dimezzato, I sepolcri… leafing through this book, readers will come across an autographed letter from Italo Calvino who congratulates the author in his youth, admiring the mastery of a young yet mature Michele Mari. La morte attende vittime is a beautiful, limited edition.

L’ABBUFFONE

by U. TOGNAZZI

RIZZOLI 1974 PRIMA EDIZIONE

L’abbuffone is a first edition, and will, perhaps, be difficult to come by.
A delightful and humorous collection of recipes by the unforgettable, gourmand actor of Italian cinema.

The recipes come handy, especially these days!

LA VERA STORIA O QUASI DEL COGNAC

DI C. MANZONI

RIZZOLI ED LIMITATA

Another unique selection. The drawings are reminiscent of B.C. and Andy Capp, and the plot tells the story of the history of cognac. La vera storia o quasi del cognac is a graphic novel that could double as an anthropological essay. It is a relaxing read that would make the perfect gift for a friend. Included are recipes that call for… you guessed it… cognac!
