LoudLift Live returns on Thursday 9 July at 22:00 with a performance of psychedelic blues from Black Snake Moan, a one-man band that combines the traditions of Americana folk music with the unmistakeable sound of desert psychedelia, adding unexpected touches from sitar, tampura, 12-string guitar and synths.

Black Snake Moan is a one-man musical project that takes in diverse influences and inspirations. Marco Contestabile’s creations sit at the half way house between sound and spirituality. The experimental and bewitching approach of Black Snake Moan concerts, juggling drums, guitar and voice, has been reflected in terms of important awards, such as the 2017 editions of the Arezzo Wave and MEI SuperStage competitions, and has seen him put on countless live shows throughout Italy and over ninety across Europe, also playing at the world-famous Sziget Festival in Budapest.

LOUDLIFT LIVE, curated by Matteo Gioli

Loudlift It’s Alive! Loudlift returns both ‘live’ and ‘alive’. Playing with the title of the celebrated Ramones live album, after months of lockdown, with people inventing new ways of playing music online, you will once again get the chance to see musicians take to a real stage at Manifattura Tabacchi, no longer just on your tablet.

Loudlift is ready to ride again, with its focus as ever on the quality and authenticity of the acts on show, taking in artists such as Black Snake Moan (09/07/2020), Canarie (16/07/2020), Maria Antonietta (23/07/2020) and I’m Not A Blonde (30/07/2020), and kicking things off with the exceptional duo of Roberto Angelini and Rodrigo D’Erasmo and their tribute to Nick Drake (24/06/2020). Shining a light on some of the most promising names in the independent music scene, and taking in everything from bewitching female vocals to one-man-band-neo-folk.

The first self-operated recording booth in Italy

Set up in an old cargo lift in B9, it’s a modern version of the recording booths built in the United States from the 1940s until the 1970s.

The Manifattura Tabacchi recording booth, unique in Italy, is a place that was created to give a voice to musical projects and unconventional messages.

In just a few minutes you can create your own audio postcard – digital or vinyl – and experience how it feels to be a recording act.
