The fourth edition of God Is Green is guided by the theme of ecology as a new form of thought and the relationship between natural and social ecosystems. The program of meetings brings to light strategies and observations that have emerged from the projects carried out by the artists of SUPERBLAST. They will in fact participate in a series of talks together with thinkers and scholars of the industrial and the artistic world.

In addition to the talks: SUPERBLAST exhibition opening; a photographic exhibition curated by Publiacqua; the finissage of Botanica Temporanea; a conference on the future of tourism in Florence, a workshop for children and a flower market.

“When shooting photographs, my intention is not to limit myself to attaining a formal image, typical of architectural documentation. I encourage and display a greater emotional involvement, whereby the atmosphere and the perceptual experience of the observer are relevant. This is a conscious choice I make, eschewing a rigid representation of architectural details.”
Davide Virdis, architect and photographer.

In every town and neighbourhood, there are people who take care of our cities. They desire something different from how we presently view and experience these shared spaces, envisioning the potential they have to offer residents and visitors. This book tells the stories of these enterprising citizens. It narrates the history of the Ufficio Immaginazione Civica di Bologna which lends its support to the people who are increasingly active in caring for their neighborhoods, empowering them to form networks and transform communities. This kind of participation in public affairs differs greatly from that dictated by traditional politics. Thanks to private associations, committees and ad hoc initiatives, the energy of individuals who care about their community is brought to the foreground. These grassroots initiatives are a creative force that can gather the necessary momentum to enact meaningful change.

As the Botanic Temporanea experience comes to a close on Sunday, 19 September, Antonio Perazzi and the journalists will reflect upon the project’s journey and will launch the idea behind the Botanica Temporanea manifesto.

“Parco delle Cascine, the maintenance of parks and gardens”
with Antonio Perazzi ((Landscape designer and founder of Studio Perazzi), Mario Bencivenni (historian) and Paolo Bassetti (Technical Assistant, Curator of the Giardino della Botanica Superiore of the Boboli Gardens).

Cascine is the most important public and historical park in the city of Florence. Public park since 1865, together with the surrounding avenues on the river banks and Viale dei Colli, they became the fulcrum of the first urban green system of the contemporary city and have been appointed as monuments with historical, artistic and environmental value. As a result, they are subject to what prescribed in the Code of Cultural Heritage and Landscape. A place where every maintenance, conservation, or restoration operation must take into account the preservation of all its elements at the same time. Today these areas have cultural, public, botanical and social functions, representing one the greatest challenges of the city of Florence.
