Prevention in sports is essential to ensure athletes’ safety—whether amateur or professional. The Italian model of sports medical screening, which includes periodic check-ups and tests such as resting and stress ECGs, has proven effective in reducing the incidence of serious cardiac events. This approach enables early detection of heart conditions, even in the absence of symptoms. In fact, intense physical activity can sometimes trigger major cardiac events in individuals with undiagnosed issues. Sport, at any age, is a pillar of well-being—but only if supported by proper medical checks.

This talk will explore the risks associated with physical activity, the importance of medical clearance for sports, the role of ECGs, cardiovascular prevention, and warning signs that should not be ignored. Speakers will include Silvia Tozzi from LOSTUDIOESSE and marathon runner Antonella Belli, who has completed over 80 marathons and will share insights on the importance of athletic preparation. There will also be a dedicated focus on women’s cardiovascular health, particularly ischemic heart disease.

Participants will be encouraged to share personal experiences and ask questions in an open dialogue with experts. A light refreshment will follow.
