Queens & Peace is the theme of the fifth edition of L’Eredità delle Donne, the festival on women’s empowerment and skills, under the artistic direction of Serena Dandini, to be held Oct. 21-23 in Florence at Manifattura Tabacchi and online at www.ereditadelledonne.eu.

Pulitzer Prize winners, political leaders, scientists, magistrates, writers, musicians, historical voices of feminism and Gen Z activists. On a horizon torn by armed conflict and bloody repression, marked by economic uncertainty and the aftermath of the pandemic, L’Eredità delle Donne festival gives voice to extraordinary female figures of our time and entrusts them with a message of awareness, resilience, hope and beauty.

Italian premieres for the three-day Florentine event that will feature more than 20 events on crucial current issues. Indeed, the focus of this edition will be on war and peace, power and leadership, women’s bodies and their rights, a centuries-old political battleground. And again, new generations, new feminisms and protagonists of yesterday and today will also be confronted on the themes of work and the world we want.

THE FESTIVAL IN A NUTSHELL

L’Eredità delle Donne is the first event in Italy that each year invites female scientists, economists, writers, artists, leaders, environmentalists, activists, politicians and entrepreneurs to meet and discuss the major issues of contemporary life. In less than five years, the festival has become the indispensable point of reference on issues of empowerment and a privileged observatory on the gender condition in Italy and around the world.
