Diana De Luca
Diana De Luca lives and works in Borgorose (Rieti, Italy) and L’Aquila (Abruzzo). Her work and interests evolve constantly and focus on using discarded objects, refuse, and fragments of daily life which refer to very specific moments during the day. They are traces of a personal and collective emotional memory. ‘I am fascinated by contradictions, unusual pairings, the essence of discarded objects and ephemeral materials, and the unexpected communicative power within these objects’. Negative particles which have exhausted their lifecycle as functional objects are thus combined in open-ended, nonlinear narratives that shift the viewer’s attention to an ephemeral realm which intrinsically contains the archetype of emotional memory.
Diana De Luca studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti in L’Aquila where she was the assistant to the artist Marion Baruch. Her most recent exhibitions include: pasticceriacosmica (Instagram 2020), Aula 16, Accademia di Belle Arti (L’Aquila, 2018), and spazio VARCO (L’Aquila, 2017).
