Max Mondini lives and works in Civitella in Val di Chiana (AR) and Milano.
In his pieces, the artwork becomes a catalyst, a form of communication that requires a visual approach that is not required to be justified by a thought process.
In Mondini’s words, his pieces are ‘to be undertaken, not necessarily labeled in any particular way according to our cultural norms. My goal is to evoke feelings and, consequently, thought, without directing it towards any particular conclusion. [My works] impose a new perception through forms, causing the viewer to react, but leaving the rest to happen naturally’. Each of Mondini’s works therefore is free to take its own path. As any explicit cultural reference is erased, each piece becomes an object to be freely and continuously defined.
Mondini studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera (Milano) and the Accademia di Firenze. He works as an artist and Art Advisor for various galleries, collections and museums in Italy and abroad. In 2015, he became Office Manager at the Studio Alberto Garutti. In 2017, he began exhibiting his work once again, participating in exhibitions and residencies at several galleries, independent spaces and museums including: Palazzo Re Enzo (Bologna, 2011), Palazzo della Triennale (Milano, 2012), Effetti Venturi, Museo del Novecento (Milano, 2013), Palazzo Tresoldi (Bergamo, 2014), maXter, Museo Villa Croce (Genova, 2015), Fondazione Lanfranco Baldi (Pelago, 2019), Toast Project Space (Firenze, 2020), Centro per l’Arte Contemporanea Museo Luigi Pecci (Prato, 2020), and La Portineria PAC (Firenze, 2020).
