full program

The Attivisti della Danza will meet at the Happening! festival to instantly compose Scramble, an itinerant performance based on one of Simone Forti’s choreographic scores. Simone Forti is an American choreographer, visual artist, and dancer with Florentine origins who revolutionised the concept of dance, gesture, and performance in the 1960s.

The Attivisti della Danza have designed a workshop aimed at creating a choreographic score. The workshop will take place in Happening!’s spaces and will develop an itinerant journey throughout Manifattura Tabacchi. Simultaneously, groups which share the Attivisti’s ethical creeds will perform Scramble in other cities as well, consolidating a dynamic network of dancers throughout Italy.

Many thanks to Elena Biserna, Maria Elena Curzi, Lucrezia Palandri and Mosè Risaliti for their precious contributions to conceiving and creating this event.

Special thanks to Simone Forti.

Access will be in full compliance with the measures that the Italian government is taking to combat the spread of COVID-19. Limited seating. In order to view the performance, early arrival is strongly recommended.

With Scramble, the connection forged between Attivisti della Danza and Simone Forti deepens. In 2014, thanks to the support and direction from the celebrated choreographer, Forti’s best-known Dance Construction entitled Huddle was performed. As in Huddle in 2014, the Attivisti will attain to notes written ad hoc by Forti for this performance of Scramble.

A score to share inaugurates the presence of Attivisti della Danza in Manifattura Tabacchi’s spaces with the Dance for Dance project.

The independent web radio Fango will produce 4 podcasts to explore topics related to postmodern dance and performance.

Attivisti della Danza is an open group of dancers and choreographers based in Florence and the surrounding areas. Since 2012, the collective has opened an active dialogue on the needs of professional dancers working in Italy. Attivisti della Danza promotes Sharing Training, a horizontal way of sharing bodily practice, geared towards providing meetings between professional dancers over time. Sharing Training sessions are led by participants in rotation thanks to the idea of a circular economy. Its goal is to open a communal and interdisciplinary space which reflects the hybrid borders between contemporary practices of dance, movement, and the body.
